gastropolis

Toyle is a hard working chef.

In fact, the kitchen is all he knows: it goes on for miles, maybe forever. Somewhere above there is a restaurant, somewhere below there are dish washers.

Toyle doesn’t think about it until he accidentally boils a dishwasher to death, and is sent down into the depths of the ‘dish pit’ to join them.

Gastropolis is a dystopian thriller set in an immense, dilapidated kitchen complex. It is influenced by dystopian works like Snowpiercer, 1984, and Metropolis.

The screenplay is rich in dialectic language and pungent description to evoke a world of flooded machinery, clogged filters, and miles of plastic lined corridors.

Having worked in over forty kitchens, I have a tactile and sensory knowledge of this environment, and a deep understanding of how trapped a kitchen can make you feel.
